[obm-l] Bug no Mathematica?!!?!?

Pessoal, plotem isto no mathematica :
Plot[1/8*(-2 + (x/Sqrt[100 + x^2]) ), {x, -10, -2}]

Como podem ver, existe uma raiz entre -6 e -4.
Pois bem, peguem o proprio mathematica (ou uma calculadora qualquer)
e vejam qual é o valor de 1/8*(-2 + (x/Sqrt[100 + x^2] p/ x = - 6 e 
depois p/ x = -2. Os dois são negativos! Então aquela raiz lá não existe!
De fato, plotei a mesma funcao no winplot e ele nao me apresentou 
nenhuma raiz!
É de fato um bug do mathematica?!
