Abstract:
It turns that some pairs of random walks in dimensionmore than one
are indistinguishable from the point of view of a bartender (an observer in a fixed point).
Such random walks are obtained by mutations of each other,
and geometrically correspond to special birational transformations of a torus.
In dimension two any three equivalent in this sense mutations yield infinitely many others.
Also all this story has a meaningful and interesting lift to a quantum torus.
