I have seen flowers come in stony places
And kind things done by men with ugly faces,
And the gold cup won by the worst horse at the races,
So I trust, too.

About me
I am a research mathematician working in Rio de Janeiro. I specialize in classical differential geometry. My work largely concerns the classical theory of submanifolds and its manifestations in contemporary mathematics. These may be found in hyperbolic geometry, Teichmüller theory, general relativity, integrable systems theory, differential topology, the theory of curvature flows, and the theory of totally non-linear partial differential equations.
Key words
hypersurfaces, fundamental forms, curvature, moduli, singularities, totally non-linear PDEs, hypoelliptic regularity, differential topology
