There will be a shuttle service from the Rio de Janeiro international airport to the hotels Leblon all suites and Ritz on Sunday July 22th, when most of participants arrive. There will be three schedules according to the responses about arrival information received up to date:
1) The first one will be at the international flights gate from 7 to 8 am, for participants arriving early in the morning;
2) The second schedule will be from 11 to 12 at the same gate;
3) The last one from 4 pm to 5 pm will be waiting for participants at the national and international gates.
I apologize to those unable to reach the shuttle services, there are good taxi services available. The cost of a ride from the International airport of Rio de Janeiro (Galeão) to Leblon (the neighborhood of the Leblon all suites and Ritz hotels) is around 130-150 reais, from 35 to 40 US dollars.
Some of the taxi companies you find just before the exit of the airport are Cootramo, Aerocoop, Aerotaxi. I would kindly ask you to send me your flight schedule (those who haven´t yet) to make a complete list of participants for the shuttle company. I´ ll be in touch with the hotel staff all Sunday 22th just in case.
If you are visiting PUC-Rio for the first time I recommend to come by taxi on Monday 23th (it takes about 10 min from the Hotels). There are two main entrances to PUC, one is on the Marquês de São Vicente street, the second one on the Padre Leonel Franca street, the planetarium street. This last entrance is the closest to the Prédio Cardeal Leme, the building where the Mathematics Department is located as well as the conference room (480L, fourth floor). If you come by taxi please mention this reference to the driver. The Prédio Cardeal Leme is the building to the left of this entrance.
A registration desk will be opened on Monday 23th next to the conference room from 9 am to 5:30 pm. The registration fee is 300 reais, 70 euros or 80 US$, it can be paid in foreign currency. Students have no registration fee.
